How many of us know Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the worlds greatest NBA player or Wayne Gretzky, the greatest Hockey player. Is that a crime that i dont know these players. I got these names by the help of google. Not knowing them is not a crime and you are not showing any case of disresect to NBA or World of Hockey or to their die hard fans, you just dont know, as simple as that.
But today i saw everyones wall sharing the news that Maria Sharapova dont know India Cricketing Legend Sachin Tendulkar. First of all, this itself is not a news. And this is not the way we (die hard fans of Sachin Tendulkar) should react. There is no doubt that Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar is the greatest cricketing legend ever and he is treated like God in India, but why we expect some one from Russia, a non cricketing country, has to know Sachin Tendulkar. Ask any other Russian even they dont know Sachin, they are not disresecting our God, they just said they never heard about him. Ask any one from any other non cricket playing country even they would have never heard about Sachin or Lara or Vivian Richards or Gavaskar or may be even Don Bradman.
