Why you cant compare Sachin and Kohli

Why you cant compare Sachin and Kohli?
Why Sachin is considered as the greatest batsman of all time?

It is quite an obvious thing in cricket, whenever a new player plays or bats well, people start comparing that particular player with the former players. Be it the batting style or bowling action or batting stance or anything, there always existed a comparison. But When it comes to Tendulkar and Kohli, What i want to say is comparison shouldn’t be only based on a match or a particular series. And also, it shouldn’t be only based on “stats”. Now a days, i see many people saying “Virat will break sachin’s records”. That shouldn’t be the criterion to compare and say who is a better cricketer. Sachin played with different bowling attacks, bigger grounds, different rules, different captains. His era was different from today’s. So, what i feel is we can compare both Sachin-Virat on certain grounds but definitely not with the stats. GOD is always a GOD and KING is always a KING.

Even if Virat Kohli breaks all the records of Sachin Tendulkar, he will not be able to be better than Sachin.Greatness is not defined by just statistics, there is a lot of difference between the times Of Sachin and Kohli.Think of the bowlers during Sachin's initial phase from Malcolm Marshall, wasim Akram, Waqar younis, Aquib Javed, Abdul Qader, Curtly Ambrose, Courtney Walsh, Craig Mcdermott, McGrath, Jason Gillesppie, Bret Lee, Shane Warne, Chaminda Vaas, M Muralitharan, Shaun Pollock, Alan Donald, Fannie Devillers, ian Bishop, heath Streak, Paul Strang, saqlain Mustaq, Shane Bond, Daniel Vettori, Mustaq Ahmed.....list will go on, all these bowlers are those who took more than 200 wickets in their international career.
Comparing the bowlers now, How many of them are even close to any of those in the list? Can u mention any spinner who is even close to Murali, Warne or Saqlain or Mustaq or Daniel?
Can u mention any Fast Bowler who are even close to mcgrath's , Ambrose, Fannie Devillers or Chaminda Vaas accuracy? Or Anyone close to White Lightning (Alan Donald) Or Brett lee? Any swing bowler available to compare with Waqar or Wasim, Dont even think about that.

Sachin has played from times where 250 was a huge total to 434 being chased.
From scoring a run a ball being a rarity to scoring at a strike rate of 200.
From fast-bouncy bowler favoring pitches to pitches that favor the batsmen.
For 24 years, by a 100 crore people, One man was being tested every single time, through injuries and changing the way of playing constantly according to the need of the team(He couldn't play some shots due to the injury).
Sachin was a one man army, and he thrived excellence in all of these conditions.
Today's Indian team and almost all the players trying to make a career in cricket are Inspired by this man(including Virat Kohli).
No matter, who brings these comparisons up or when it’s brought up, I think, its invariably Sachin, who will win the debate hands down!
In fact, I believe Sachin will go down as one of the greatest of the game, just for the reason I mentioned above!
It’s not the wisest of things, to compare Sachin and Kohli in any way.

India vs Bangladesh, Quarter Final, Melbourne

Every one saying that India is lucky to have Bangladesh as an opponent in Quarter Finals, But are they an easy opponent. Should we relax after the 6 wins. Definitely not. We should not forget 2007 world cup where they won and India went out of the tournament. Situations are different now, but still India should keep their basics right. On current form, India is the favorites against Bangladesh.

Sachin is not nervous, its us who are nervous when he is on nineties

We all know Sachin Tendulker has been out on nervous nineties several occasions, But we must admit that he played the most number of test matches. And also we care his record most, lot of other great players have more frequent nineties than Sachin Tendulker. Comparing the matches and innings he played and the number of nineties, he is out for nervous ninety once in every 30.3 innings and 18.4 Test. Lets compare that with other players.
Sachin Tendulker 10 nineties in 184 Matches and 303 innings, Once every 30.3 innings
Rahul Dravid 10 nineties in 160 Matches and 278 innings, scored a ninety once in every 27.8 innings.
Steve Waugh 10 nineties in 168 Matches and 260 innings, Once every 26 innings
Michael Slater 9 nineties in 74 matches and 131 innings, Once every 14.55 innings
Allvin kallicharan 8 in 66 Matches and 109 innings, Once every 13.62 innings
Inzamam ul Huq 8 in 120 Matches and 200 innings, Once every 25 innings
Mathew Hayden  7 in 103  Matches and 184 innings, Once Every 26.28 innings

Which means he is not the most nervous, its just that we care him the most. And if he failed to score a hundred we are disappointed.  Same number of nineties has happened for Rahul Dravid also, how many of us knows this. Dravid started his career in 1995 and Sachin 1989. Dravid played only 160 Matches where as Sachin has played 184. Still we remember only Sachin's nineties. For all those Sachin Haters,  Check these statistics before criticizing.

A letter to West Indies Cricket from a die hard Sachin Tendulkar fan

Everything has a limit, Especially for a die hard fan of Cricketing god Mr Sachin Tendulkar. It has been 8 months waiting for his Century of Centuries. He has almost reached there many times but fell just short. 84 against Pakistan in world cup, 91 against England, 76 against West Indies. Before the third test i doubt weather the stage is set for his hundred. In his home ground, may be for the last time in a test match, there is no better time than this. He missed the best time, to score a hundred in a world cup final, scoring his hundredth hundred winning the world cup. But still there is another chance to make us smile, forgetting all our tensions, and i believe that you can do it, because u have made me smile for the last 22 years. I will be happy even if it doesn't happen in this test. If he missed here, i will be writing another blog saying that there is no better time to score this hundred than to score that against Australia :).
We all know that West indies is not the best attack right now. but still they have successfully finished two test match without making Sachin score. This is something to cheer about. but what you gained from that? Nothing, better give him a chance and make the last test match a memorable one, and also you will be a part of history also. Who is going to remember these West Indian players after 50 years. He these people give a chance to Sachin, at least they will be remembered forever.

Shoaib Akthar, knows how to sell a book

Former pakistani bowler Shoaib Akthar knows how to make controversies and sell his book, Controversially Yours. In his book he state that Wasim Akram tried to ruin his career, Sachin never played a winning knock, Indian Legends Sachin and Dravid played for themselfs. The bowler whose career was a complete mess by allegation of ball tampering and drug abuse. He must have doped before he wrote this book. Like former great Wasim Akram said, "He was a problem through out hius career, and  remains a problem". He is making unwanted comments on star duo, which eventually, he thought,  will make his book sell. but unfortunatly he was wrong, the book got a ban in Mumbai, Sachin Tendulkar's native place.
Akthar who played 46 test and 163 ODI's was recalled on India's tour of Pakistan in 2006. Akthar wrote Sachian was uncomfortable facing him in that tour. I remember that tour Sachin didnt bat in 3 innings out of 6 innings India played. He was bowled by A Razzaq and Mohammed Asif in first and second innings respectively. And he faced only very few deliveries bowled by Shoaib Akthar. Then when was he uncomfortable? for a single bouncer. Then i agree with you. because you can trouble any batsman for one or two deliveries or may be one or two matches. Look at the figures of shoaib Akthar in that test matches
First Innings-   16 overs 70 for 2, run rate of 4.27 in test matches
Second innings-   8 overs 37 for 1, run rate of 4.62
Is this the bowler who troubled Sachin Tendulkar :) lol!!!!!! in that match.

We know what Sachin, Dravid and Wasim did for their country. Consider Shoaib Akthar career  and also what this disgusting bad boy of Pakistan done through out his career. He has created so many controversies, which will be more than the matches he played for his country.

Sorry Shoaib Akthar, I will not buy your book

England success mainly because of the tail

Big losses in the first two tests, India would be thinking of how to come back in the series and protect their number one ranking in test cricket. And also to prove that its not a fluke. But whats the main reason for Englands success and India's loss. England got unexpected heros in the two test matches. Comparing Indias and Englands tail enders in the first two test matches we can see the difference.

Matt Prior-2 Matches 248 runs with an average of 82.66
Ms Dhoni-2 Matches 49 runs with 12.25

Stuart Board-2-182-60.66
Harbhajan Singh-2-58-14.50

Tim Bresnen- 1-101-50.50
Sreesanth-1-7-7.00

Gramme Swan-2-55-18.33
Praveen Kumar- 2-44-11.00

These statitics clearly shows the difference. Add to that these tail came good when England need them most. In Lords they where 270 for 5 they reached 474. And in 2nd innings they where 55 for 5 Matt prior(107*) came to their rescue with Board(74*), which took their lead to 295 to 458. In trentbridge also tail came to their rescue, from 124 for 8 Board came in and smashed 64 of just 66 deliveries. And in the second innings Bressnen(90) and Board (44) shared a partnership of 82 in eight wicket, which took the game away from India.
Indian tail was directly opposite from hosts. In Lords they combined  score were 45  and 31  respectively in first and second innings. In Trentbridge also they failed to deliver as India was on upper hand with 267 for 4 but slipped to 288 all out. Tails contribution was mere 15 runs. Second innings was little better, India scored 158 in which tail scored more than half of the runs. When front line 6 batsmen scored a cobined score of 22.

India number one or just a fluke

After the south African safari I thought it was not just a fluke that India emerged as the number one test team. But now i think so. Not just because India first two test matches against England, but the way they lost. If you look at the West Indies in the early 70's and Australia from 1996 to 2010, they have dominated the test cricket even when they miss some of the best players. But the current Indian team, because they depend heavily on individuals, they badly miss Shewag, gambhir and Zaheer. To add to that Laxman and Sachin are clearly out of sorts.
Statitics shows why India won many matches abroad last year. Sachin scored at an average of 78.10, Laxman 67.07 and Dravid 42.83, Shewag 61.82.  Current series only Dravid has performed, Shewag is Injured and Sachin and Laxman didnt capitalise the start they got. The important thing that worries is the rest of the players. They should take the reponsibilities when these big guns get out earlier, but they didnt. Look at the averages from the rest of the guys who played test cricket for India in last year. Gambhir- 32.75 in ten test matches, Ms Dhoni- 41.65 in 13 matches, S.Raina- 33.09 in 8 matches and Yuvraj- 23.45 in 3 test. These figures show how much these new bunch of young guns scored in the last succesful year.
From these statitics we can understand that succes India had in the last year is mainly because of Zaheer and Sachins form, add to that rescue work from Laxman who bats at no:5 or 6. But in the first two test against England he batted at no:3, Zaheer was Injured and Sachin was not among runs. This should not be the case for a team who ranks at number one in test. India is not a team which can dominate the test cricket for a long time as winning abroad is still a rare thing for India.

India Vs England second test in trentbridge

After loosing the first match India has to be smart enough to beat current England team, which have a good batting line up and a better bowling side. The touring team has lost the first match by 196 runs. Injuries has been the main head ache for India in this tour. Zaheer khan only played 3 hours in the first Test. Gambhir was also injured during the match, Sachin was not able to give his 100% because of the virul fever. But its not good for a world number one team to place excuses like these. I think the preparation was not that good before the match. which is the main reason for the loose.
But in the recent past India has a good record in the second match of the series. In the last ten series India have won 6 of the second test and lost 4. India has always done badly in the first match of the series and came back in the second. Indian batsmen has to come good to win the second test. Indian batsmen has not done well in the last test series and also in the first test of this series. They have failed to score 300 on both innings of the first test. They have done only once in the series against West Indies.
I think Sreesanth will replace Zaheer in the second test. Harbhajan should be given some rest and bring back Amit mishra who is the inform bowler and has done well in West indies. England is playing with the same team. They want to win this test and they will move up to the number one spot in test cricket.

Sachin Tendulkar, You showed the world that Cricket is a Gentelmen Game

Sachin i feel sad. Even after 22 years of playing for the country, you are still expected to win matches on your own. We forget that apart from you there are10 more players in the team. You have been the run machine in World Cups with an average of 60. Even today while you yet again proved your classwith a 111 the others around took it easy. You chased the ball in theoutfield and ensured that your throws landed on top of the bails. Others preferred to drop catches or go back to the dressing room for a ‘rest’ while a substitute fielder came in. Sachin, the current Indian cricket team doesn’t deserve you. They don’t know what it is like to give one’s blood and sweat for this nation of a billion people. For them fame and money has cometo easy and undeserving – not commensurate to the ’supposed talent’ that they posses. Do you remember what you had said to Tom Alter in that interview in 1989? “I just want to play cricket”. Sachin, let me also not hide the truth – you are not my favorite cricketer – but one plays favorites only with humans – not with Gods for they are revered, emulated and look  dat in awe… [We expect Sachin to win this cup for us. But what about the other players? Are they supposed to be playing ludo in the dressing room? I hope that the rest of the team wake up and realize that they are not there to 'play' in the tournament, they are supposed to 'win' it - not forthemselves, not for India but for the greatest Indian to have lived - SachinTendulkar. P.S: to have lived - SachinTendulkar. P.S: In the 1992, Hero Cup semi-final in Eden Gardens Kolkata(India Vs. SA), SA needed 6 runs to win off the last over. Tendulkarsnatched the ball from Azhar and bowled a magnificent over to win that matchfor us. (He gave away only 3 runs). Maybe our team needs to watch that overto know what guts and glory are all about.] Sachin, I hope we win the finalin Wankhede. If we don’t a billion people can only hang their heads in shameand ask for your forgiveness.Regards,

One of your undying fans who:1. Still goes crazy when you hit that straight drive and show us themanufacturer’s name on the bat.

2. Stayed awake late into the night before my end terms to watch that 100in Sharjah in the midst of that sandstorm.

3. Relished every shot that you played to decimate Warne in 1998 and then Shoaib Akhtar in that 2003 World Cup against Pakistan.

4. Will stop watching cricket after you retire.”

I would also like to add...he showed his greatness by walking away in theInd vs WI match on sunday...

Reason why Sachin's 13 Centuries went in vain, for everyone who criticized Sachin Tendulkar

When many people say how many of Sachin's hundreds have come for a winning cause, here is analysis of each of those centuries he scored when INDIA lost and reason why it went in vain.

Sachin Tendulkar gets to yet another century but India end up on the losing side - How many times have we seen that?

While there would be the Tendulkar bashers and critics who say that India lose a match whenever Sachin scores a century, the statistics prove otherwise.

Out of the 48 hundreds, We won 33 , Tied 1, Draw 1. And we lost only 13.

1. 137 off 137 (Strike rate 100) balls Vs SriLanka at Delhi in 1996 World Cup.

India scored 271/3 in 50 overs. The only other 50 score was from Azhar. SL made 272 in 48.4 overs. Manoj Prabhakar had 4-0-47-0. He also opened in the innings and scored 7 of 36 balls.

2. 100 of 111 Balls Vs Pak in Singapore - Apr 96.

India 226 all out in 47.1 overs, When Sachin was out score was 186/4 (We cant blame because next 3 are match fixtures). Pak had a reduced target of 187 from 33 overs.

3. 110 of 138 Balls (Slower but...) vs Sri Lanka In Colombo - Aug 96

Again India 226 for 5 in 50 overs, Only other 50 score from Azhar (58 of 99 balls !!!). Sachin has also bowled 6-0-29-1, the second most economical bowler and the only wicket taker (SL were 230/1 in 44.2 ) of the match next to Srinath. Seven bowlers were used by Azhar.

4. 143 of 131 Balls (!!!) Vs Aus at Sharjah, Apr 1998

This was chasing under lights. The qualifying match before the final. The whole world knows about this match. Still one interesting point, when Sachin was out India were 242 at 5 at 43 overs. Target was 276 in 46. Still India finished at 250/5 scoring just 8 of the next 3 overs.

5. 101 of 140 Balls against SL at Sharjah , Oct 2000.

Indian score was 224/8 in 50 overs. (No other 50 score). SL got 225/5 in 43.5, Sachin also bowled 5-0-22-0, better economy rate than everyone except Srinath.

6. 146 of 153 Balls against Zimbabwe at Jodhpur , December 2000

India made 283 / 8 in 50 overs. Sachin was the last man to be dismissed, score was 235/8 at 46.3 overs when he was out. Agarkar and Zaheer Khan propelled India to 283 in the last 3.3 overs.

When Sachin has scored 146 of 235 in 46.3 overs, you can guess what the other 8 great batsmen were doing against the World class Zimbabwe attack. Second Highest scorer was Zaheer Khan with 32.

Zim got 284/9 in 49.5 overs. Kumble bowled the last over. Sachin also got 6-0-35-1

7. 101 of 129 Balls Vs SA at Johannesburg , Oct 2001

India got 279/5 in 50, Ganguly made 127 of 126 balls. When Ganguly got out, the score was 193-1 in 35.2 overs. Sachin was the last man to get out at 263. SA got 280 in 48.4 overs. Sachin bowled 9-0-51-0, second best in economy rate next only to Agarkar (10-0-45-1)

8. 141 of 135 balls Vs Pak at Rawalpindi, March 2004.

India were chasing 329 and were 317 all out in 48.4 overs, 8 balls to spare. No other batsman made even a 50 (when chasing 300 ) and when Sachin was out, India were 245-4 in 38.4 overs. They needed 85 from 68 balls with 6 wickets in hand.

9. 123 of 130 Balls Vs Pak at Ahmedabad, April 2005.

India made 315/6 in 48 overs (48 over match), again no other 50 score. Second highest was Dhoni 47 of 64 balls, (third highest was extras - 39). Pak made 319 in 48 overs. The three quicks (Balaji, Nehra and Khan went for 188 runs from 26 overs between them taking only 2 wickets). Sachin bowled 6-0-36-1. No Harbhajan and no Kumble.

10. 100 of 113 Balls Vs Pak at Peshawar, Feb-2006.

India were 328 all out in 49.4 overs. Pathan and Dhoni got 60 each. When Sachin was out when India were 305-5 in 45 overs. Managed only 23 in the last five overs. Pak scored 311/7 in 47 overs and won by D/L method. Could have been anybody's game. Sachin did not bowl.

11. 141* of 148 Balls Vs WI , Malaysia.

India made 309 /5 in 50 overs. Sachin was not out. Pathan was the only other 50 scorer. WI made 141/2 in 20 overs and won by D/L method. Again could have been anybody's game.

12. 175 of 141 Balls vs Australia at Hyderabad, 5th Nov 2009.

India needed 351 to win. And at the End, lost by 3 Runs. Spare a thought for Sachin Tendulkar. He seemed to have done everything possible but didn't last the final lap. Only Raina scored along with him…made 59…and other Players just Enjoyed Sachin’s batting.

13. 111 of 101 Balls Vs South Africa at Nagpur , 12th March 2011.

India were 267/1 and at the end all out for 296. When Sachin got out after scoring 111, India only managed to score 30 Runs with lost of 9 Wickets.

This Proved how good Sachin’s hundreds were! Hope people will stop laughing now.

In other 35 Instances , We won 33 , Tied 1, Draw 1.

Just to add to this fact...he already has 14 scores in '90s... Many of which has resulted in an Indian victory.

If we look at the centuries scored by Sachin while chasing are better then the others.

Below is the list of players scoring centuries while chasing :

SACHIN --> HAS DONE IT --> 14 times

PONTING --> HAS DONE IT --> 08 times

LARA --> HAS DONE IT --> 07 times

INZAMAM --> HAS DONE IT --> 03 times

Sir Viv.RICHARDS --> HAS DONE IT --> 03 times

Now , let us see what Sachin has done for India's cause when he has gone past 50 but not a ton. Out of the 93 times Sachin Tendulkar has scored a fifty, India have secured 56 wins while ending up on the losing side 35 times. Two games were without the Result. Digging deeper, India has won 28 times whenever Sachin has scored between 70 to 99.

Who has scored the maximum number of tons in winning causes for their respective teams.

Sachin’s critics will have their mouths tightly shut because the master tops the chart with most number of tons resulting in a team's win. Most of the time he stayed unbeaten.

Sachin : 33 Hundreds --> 13 times he was Unbeaten.

Ponting : 25 Hundreds --> 8 times he was Unbeaten.

Jayasuriya : 24 Hundreds --> 5 times he was Unbeaten.

Ganguly :18 Hundreds --> 10 times he was Unbeaten.

Hope everyone will understand Sachins stats and hopefully the worth of Sachin's 100's would not be discussed again.

To people for whom the above stats are not enough then SACHIN's...

*** 21 years of cricket is not Enough...??
*** 48 tons aint Enough...??
*** 33 TONS in WON-Matches ain't Enough...??
*** 14 TONS in WON-Matches "while-chasing" ain't Enough....??

NOTHING is Enough.
...coz.... They got two know abt cricket ----- SINCE LAST WEEK..!!!

Anyways hats off to all ignorant indian cricket lovers who do not have any proper analysis of the game.

Try to watch the game with some education i mean game analysis and try to stop making useless and proofless statements.

An Indian fan about Sachin Tendulkar after the match, India vs South Africa world cup,

Remember when you failed an examination. How many people recall that, your class, friends, relatives? You failed to make it to the IITs or IIMs. Who remembers. How many times have you had the feeling of being the best in your class, school , university, state….., you failed to get a visa stamped this quarter…, you missed a promotion this year…, how did it feel when you dad told you in your early twenties that you are good for nothing…..and now your boss tell you the same... You keep introspecting and go into a shell when people most of whom don’t matter a dime in your life criticize you, back bite you, make fun of you. You are left sad and shattered and you cry when your own kin scoffs at you. You say I am feeling low today. It takes a lot from us to come out of these everyday situations and move on. A lot??? really? Now here’s a man standing on the third man boundary in the last over of a world cup match. The bowler just has to bowl sensibly to win this game. What the man at the boundary sees is 4 rank bad bowls bowled without any sense of focus, planning or regret. India loses, yet again in those circumstances when he has done just about everything right. He does not cry. Does not show any emotion. Just keeps his head down and leaves the field. He has seen these failures for 22 years now. And not just his class, relatives, friends but the whole world has seen these failures. We are too immature to even imagine what goes on in that mind and heart of his. That’s why I would never want to be Sachin.
True, he has single handedly lifted to moods of this entire nation umpteen number of times. He has been an inspiration to rise above our mediocrity. Nobody who has ever lifted the willow even comes close to this man’s genius. His dedication and metal strength is unparallel. This is specially for those people who would have made fun of him again last night when India lost. They are people who are mediocre in their own lives. Who just scoff at others to create cheap fun. Who have lived in a small hole throughout their lives and thought they have seen the oceans. Think about the man himself. He is 37 years of age. He has been playing almost non stop for 22 years. The way he was running and diving around the field last night would have put 22 year olds to shame. The way he played the best opening quickies in the world was breathtaking. He just keeps getting better which is by the way humanly impossible. Its not for nothing that people call him GOD. But still I don’t want to be in those shoes. We struggle in keeping our monotonous lives straight, lives which affect a limited number of people. Imagine what would be the magnitude of the inner struggle for him, pain both mental and physical, tears that have frozen with time, knees and ankles and every other joint in the body that is either bandaged or needs to be attended to every night, eyes that don’t sleep before a big game, bats that have scored 99 international tons and still see expectations from a billion people.
And he just converts those expectations into reality. We watch in awe, feel privileged. Well I think its time that his team realizes that enough is enough. They have an obligation, not towards their country alone but towards sachin. They need to win this one for him. Stay assured that he himself will still deliver and leave no stone unturned to make sure India wins this cup. This is not just a game, and he is not just a sportsman. Its much more than this. Words fail here.

India Vs South Africa, Clash between the Even

Arguably this is the clash between the inform teams. The No:1 test team is ready to take on No:2 team in their own den. History is against the Indians, as they are poor tourist in the past. Indians never won a series in South Africa, can they do it this time. This is the most even battle of recent times.
The best opening pair vs best opening bowling pair, Virendar shewag and Gautam Gambhir are arguably the best opening pair in the world, can they continue their form in the coming series also. They have to be at their best as they are against the best bowling pair in the world, Daryl Steyn and Morne Morkel.
India, in Dravid has the best no:3 batsman in the world, but he is, off late he has not performed to his potential. But it will be great to see him back in form. On the other hand Hashim Amla is in great form this year with an average of 88 this year.
Coming to number four, Both teams are with legends, India is having the greatest batsman of all time, Sachin Tendulkar, having is best year with the bat. kallis who is also in form with four centuries this year. He has an extra point with his bowling. VVS Laxman and AB Devillers are coming next, even this position is also at par. I am not ready to compare vvs with Devillers but still he has just scored the highest individual score by a south African recently concluded series. Suresh raina and A Prince, the next to come, here i will rate Prince a bit higher than Raina, because of the condition suits Prince than Raina. Boucher and Dhoni, here also Experience and home advantage is with Boucher so i will say Boucher will be better than Dhoni.
All these top order batsman are in form but who will perform on the day is more important. My prediction will be 2-1 in favour of South Africa.

Sachin Tendulker, Master of the game

In India he enjoys a god like status. Great players say he is a batting genius. He is intelligent, his decency and Humility are his watch worths. After 21 years of international cricket, still one of the finest batsman in the world today. He is one of the legends of cricket.
Eden parl, Auckland, March 1994, On a seaming wicket Sachin Tendulker was promoted as an opener against New Zealand. He made 94 from 49 balls. Its considered as one of the great one day knocks.
Tendulker will go down in, certainly in Indian history, I think probably Indias Best, there had been so many of them, but he will be the best. This modern Indian genaration, we are privillaged to watch him in television, will result in remembering him for ever. I think its one of those very few great players who started of looking special.
At the age of 14, anybody who saw him can realize that he will be a great player one day. And he didnt let anybody down. Every one has huge expectation when he came to international areana. He fulfilled  all these expectations and he continues to do so even after 21 years.
Tendulkars technique is the benchmark for modern batsman. Don Bradman believed that  Tendulkar  was the closest thing to himself that he have ever seen. He is the most complete batsman of this era, perhaps of all time. because he scored runs against every country, every ground, every situations all kind of pitches. Thats something we cant say about everybody, even Don Bradman. Tendulkar is considered as the most perfect batsman one has ever seen. His back lift is straight, his balance is unbelievable, he can play of either foot and the ability which separates the men from the boys, the ability to hit a good ball for boundaries and sixes.
You know you are watching someone special. You know you are watching someone who comes once in  a life time. He has given a new dimension to Indian cricket, we have Sunil Gavaskar, who grind with the bowling and won pride as a world class batsman. But suddenly there was someone who torn all bowling attacks apart. He came to international cricket when India was looking for that kind of hero. I think Tendulkar is the father of modern day cricket.

Significance of Sachin Tendulkar

We know that India is the number one test team  in the world. But what and who made India number one. First of all its a team effort, its never individual brilliance that make a team number one in the world. If so India would have been number one for the past 21 years.  India has a far better bowling attack when she is playing with Javagal Srinathm Venkatesh Prasad and Anil Kumble, and a far better batting line up with Ganguly, Dravid, Sachin and Laxman. But whats the difference now? Is that a captain with no fear? Or a coach? Luck? Or a team effort?
I took a look at Sachins performance in the last ten test matches in which India won. Three against Sri Lanka, Two against Australia, Two Against Bangladesh, One each against South  Africa, New Zealand and England.

Against England 37 and 103* , India won by 6 wickets
New Zealand    160   , Won by 10 wickets
SriLanka   40 , Won by an innings and 144 runs
SriLanka  53 , India won by an innings and 24 runs
Bangladesh  105* and 16, won by 113 runs
Bangladesh  143  , won by 10 wickets
South Africa  106  , won by an innings and 57 runs.
SriLanka  41 and 54 , won by 5 wickets.
Australia 98 and 38, won by 1 wicket.
Australia 214 and 53*  , won by 7 Wickets

In these ten matches in which India won, Sachin Tendulkar scored 1261 at an average of 105.08. This clearly indicates the importance of Sachin Tendulkar. There are other player also who made big contributions in these matches. Laxman, Shewag, Ghambir, Zaheer Khan are some of them who made their valuable contributions, but none better than Little Master.

Sachin Tendulkar

I was amazed to see some people still criticize Sachin. I don't understand what they are expecting from a Human Being. And the questions they ask amaze me more
Is sachin a Match winner?
Is sachin Over rated?
Is he blocking the entries of some youngsters? and so on.....
Is sachin a match winner, i read this question in a newspaper two years back, when Sachin was out of form, as they say, still he averages more than 50 in test and one-day format that year. When i was reading this article criticizing Sachin he already played around 385 Limited over games, 100 test matches. nice time to ask a question like this. How can a player who is not a match winner can play this much games. I don't think so. All kind of questions where asked when he walked on to the field when he was sixteen, when his friends where playing in the backyard of their house Sachin walked on to the field to face Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, Waqar younis, Abdul Qadar, all world class bowlers. He replied with dancing down the track to Abdul Qadar and hitting him for 4 sixes at the age of 16, is'nt that amazing feat. I think so.
After that Questions was arising every time he fails. But, he himself answer every thing with the bat. It happened more than once. In 1997, 1999, 2005, 2007, every time he fails a match or two , these so called experts came to the media saying he should retire, he should give way to the youngsters..etc
when a country was completely deprived of economic, intellectual, natural and sporting wealth. And when half the gold of our country was given to the world bank for loan and when india was considered as a third world nation and when we Indians lacked confidence even to keep our heads high.. when the whole nation was craving for a reason to be proud of.. and when even a fourth position in Olympics (PT usha) was considered as a great achievement and a thing to cherish.. a star arose.. sorry a SUN arose.. a 15 year old kid made the Indians proud...This was taken from another article about Sachin, but i feel that this has to be said again and again.
Is Sachin Over rated?...... yes, Sachin is over rated, he is called GOD, but if you consider him as human, he is definitely under rated. Everything What said and written is less for this little genius. But we Indians consider as god and everyone expects him to score a hundred every time he bats. After 21 years he still manages to score at an average of above 90 in test cricket, is that less!!!!!!.
Before 1st test between New zealand and India in Mottera, Every one talking about Sachins 50 hundreds, When whole New Zealand teams sums up 19 Hundreds. That itself shows how great his achievements are.
